for Powerpoint Arbiter instructions:
*create your account
*block dates you aren't available
*accept and decline games
And now, a message from our Important Training Leaders:
If you are officiating CIF HS games, you must get 20 hours of training, and it is up to you to follow through. If you want to know how many hours you already have, email me.
Some other VERY IMPORTANT ITEMS:
· Arbiter
Make sure your blocks are up to date in Arbiter, assigning has begun and we expect 100% of the games to be accepted. There is no reason for turn backs given the time you have to update your Arbiter account.
· Rules Interpretations and Clarifications
First, the NCLRA will still conduct two (2) stick checks per game, be sure to discuss with your crew chief as to when they will be performed.
Second, to clarify something I discussed during the NFHS presentation – the “GET IT IN” mechanics is ONLY if the offensive team brings or passes the ball back to the defensive zone (assuming the 10 second count has been satisfied), if the ball is tipped by a defender at all, the proper call is a new 20 second count in the defensive zone. The GET IT IN start upon possession by the offensive team in their defensive zone.
· TIMERS
Many newer officials did not have to purchase a Timer for last season, but with the new Youth rules, a timer is necessary as now U13 will require one as they have the same 20 second count as does U15 and HS.
· NCLRA AND US Lacrosse DUES
If you have not paid your NCLRA dues or renewed your US Lacrosse dues, you must do so promptly. After February 10th your NCLRA dues go up to $75. Also if your US Lacrosse dues are not paid, you will NOT receive games.
Remember this is our website address, all important information will be posted there, INCLUDING instructions for RefPay, be sure to check it regularly!
· Facebook
For those of you on Facebook, we have a group where we post rules questions, situations, important information and other NCLRA notifications. If you would like to join the group, simply search Facebook for NCLRA and you will be accepted into the group, or click here.
· Tests
The Level 2 NCLRA test is available now. Click here to take it. The test will need to be completed and passed by February 21st, and must be passed with an 80% or better.
And most important, have a great season!
