Strike One - Counseling with member of NCLRA Board of Directors
Strike Two - Loss of game fees
Strike Three - Dismissal from the NCLRA organization. You are free to reapply for membership in the next calendar year.
For example, if you are late to a game, you are subject to Strike One. If you do not wear the appropriate uniform to a game, you are subject to Strike Two. If you are late to another game, you are subject to Strike Three.
Performance and Conduct Guidelines:
> Report to all games to which you are assigned and have accepted.
> Arrive 30 minutes prior to each game, and no less than 10 minutes before each game. "R" officials must arrive 30 minutes prior to game time. Arrivals after game starts means partial or complete forfeiture of pay for that game.
> Provide no less than a 48 hour notice to Assignor if you are unable to meet your game obligations. If you provide notice less than 48 hours in advance, you are responsible for finding your own replacement. If you are unable to find a replacement, report the problem to the Assignor as soon as possible. Repeated issues in this area will risk your dismissal from the NCLRA organization.
> Report for game duty clean and sober, and in appropriate and complete uniform. Reference page 8 of the US Lacrosse MDOC Officials Training Program Manual 2008/2009 (copyright).
> NCLRA officials should avoid laying a hand on a player at any time. There may be extreme or unusual situations that could require a helpful hand, but under most conditions referees should not intentionally touch players. This is especially true if players engage in fighting and other aggressive behavior. Avoid becoming physically involved.
The exception to the Three Strike Policy would be immediate dismissal for gross misconduct. This means that if there are no strikes against you, and you exhibit gross misconduct, you are eligible to not only be dismissed from the organization, but may lose game fees as well.
Examples of Gross Misconduct:
> game no show without cancelling
> Reporting to your game under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, or misuse of drugs, prescription or otherwise.
