NCLRA MISSION
The goal of NCLRA is to provide the best officiating product possible to encourage quality play, sportsmanship and respect. Ensuring these values remain at the heart of the game is critical as lacrosse continues to break records in popularity and growth.
For the 2012 season the NCLRA will maintain a Facebook page to encourage dialog and community support among our association members. You must be a registered Northern California Lacrosse official in order to access and post to the Facebook page.

A Message from 2012 NCJLA Executive Director - Nora Mitchell
Greetings men's and women's lacrosse association leadership,
The NCJLA's season is just about to get underway. Please review the attached letter, outlining the new NCJLA Certified Coach program we're implementing this season. We met with both your organizations in the fall to discuss this program, and now are following up with you to be sure you and all your officials, umpires, and referees are on board to enforce this important new program, by requiring coaches wear their NCJLA lanyard while on the sidelines during all games. No NCJLA Certified Coach ID card, no standing on the sidelines (starting March 10.)
The attached letter explains purpose of the program and each of the requirements that coaches need to fulfill be to "NCJLA Certified." Please share this letter with every official who will work NCJLA games this season.
Happy to answer questions.
Regards,
Nora

NFHS ISSUED A MEMO on 2/14/12 WITH A RULES CHANGE...
RULE 4-15: NOW STATES:
Once the ball has been successfully advanced into the goal area, a team is provided the opportunity to run its offense on its offensive half of the field. If the offensive team carries or intentionally passes or propels the ball to its defensive half of the field and the offensive team was last in possession, the official will signal and verbally announce "get it in/keep it in" if the offensive team gains possession. The offensive team has 10 seconds to return the ball to the goal area, at which point it must “keep it in.” Once the goal area is gained, the officials will signal and verbally say “keep it in." In all other situations in which the ball returns to the defensive half of the field, normal rules for advancing the ball will apply with the appropriate count starting upon possession.
In simple terms, when the offensive team passes the ball from their offensive end (after the 10 second count has been satisfied) to their defensive end (or carries the ball), if they regain possession and the defense has not touched it, the correct mechanics is GET IT IN / KEEP IT IN- the offensive team has 10 seconds to get it in the box (after possession) and then has to keep it in the box (the rule book only says they have to get it in) - the 10 second starts on the offensive team's possession. If the defensive team touches the ball, start a new 20 second count
